The main purpose of Twitter is to receive and deliver short bursts of content from other Twitter users. Many use it only to interact socially, but Twitter is also turning into a great instrument for internet marketing.

The SEO industry has changed alot over the years, what used to work before, won't work anymore. You obviously know whats up, but I can't wait to see the change of Google in the next few months.

You can't learn enough these days, and friendly information in this informative article that I quote here, is worth more than...well have a look yourself. "Tweet Later has a tool that allows you to send a warm Direct Message to anyone that chooses to follow you on Twitter". Twitter is a remarkable tool and is often abused with spammy messages but after checking this one out, I'm going to apply it to all my contacts with out having to spend hours doing it. Nice one.

Re <strong>Chris Ball's</strong> comment... I can't see anything wrong with that as long as it is carried out in the same niche. Then it's not wasting people's time I guess.
The 2nd point is to only use scripts or software that is reliable. There are many scripts that don't get updated regularly and if you use them too often (re your question), you could be banned from the search engines.
1. It's safer to use PULL marketing techniques and attract followers. ie. follow me links on your posts blog or site...
2. Providing good content often means you will be re-tweeted (RT) too.

Great article. One question.
What do you think about accelerated following of people through automated programs. Where you follow a few hundred people a day and then if they don't follow you back you unfollow a few days later and follow some more?

There is a plugin for wordpress that is called the Smart Update Pinger. It automatically knows if you are editing or publishing the article and it won't send out pings on the edit.

It is a good one to add to your list of plugins. You don't want Google slamming the doors on you.

I totally loved that video. Geez, that was hilarious.

The article was awesome too. I hope the lady you mentioned gets things going again. She has my deepest sympathy.

My biggest fear is I will do something inadvertantly that the goo will find objectionable and I will get slammed in the dungeon and not even know why.

For example, I go thru my articles sometimes after they are published and I make small corrections. I do not turn the pinger off when I do this. So is google interpreting my neurotic obsession as nefarious black hat manipulation? Probably. Has not yet been a problem, but stuff like that does concern me.
